Relations With Other Races (Accordingly by Political Faction)
It is to be understood that every player character can, and will, be different and go against the ideas presented in the following list. This is merely to be used as a framework for attitudes by Poliesu player characters towards each individual faction.
;Galactic Coalition - Humans
: Much of the conflict during the Secession War was focused more against the Rokhandans than the Humans of the GC. The occupation and subjugation of Ayun-Ji following the GC’s declaration of the planet and its immediately surrounding territories under Protectorate status drove many Poliesu to develop discord against the GC and its occupying Vatborne legions. Most would look upon GC-affiliated Humans as being untrustworthy right out the gate.

;Federatsiya Feniksa/Federation - Humans
: At first, the Poliesu opted to keep out of the affairs between the Federation and the Coalition. Refusal to allow military access to Federation fleets following the raid on the Bastion until entry in the war initially strained relations between the two factions. Most Poliesians would have sympathies towards the Federation following the war but would not outwardly express this. Mercenaries who continued to serve for the Federation would have greater sympathies for the people they fought alongside with.

The bright blue gem that is Ayun-Ji is a veritable water-world and the ancestral home of the Poliesu species. Its surface is a smattering of small landmasses and small islands surrounded by deep oceans that reach far into the planet's crust. Poliesu cities are mostly confined to the oceans, leaving the surface alone for alien immigrants or specialized workers. While Poliesu are capable of surviving on land, it is typically uncomfortable and unwieldy to do so for extended periods of time. As such the vast majority of cities on Ayun-Ji are submerged and practically inhospitable for alien races save for aquatic vatborne. The dark oceans of Ayun-Ji are teeming with both passive and dangerous sea life and this aggressive environment necessitated that the Poliesu evolve to be equally fierce and strong.
;The Holy See of Visra - Lumii
: Though first contact was not under the best terms, the Poliesians eventually saw the Lumii as very close allies as they became involved with the Secession War. The Poliesians and the Lumii maintain a close relationship with one another during the armistice period. Poliesians tend to have a far easier time interacting with Lumii than any other race.

Ayun-Ji is split territory wise between five different kingdoms that have a long and storied history of intrigue, war, and backstabbing. For a long period of Poliesu history, these different warring kingdoms spent a vast majority of their time at each other's throats, but when confronted with the reality of a galaxy teeming with alien life, the kingdoms were forced to come together to protect their entire species from the possibility of external influence. While their suspicions of the other empires never really materialized, the kingdoms still maintain their fragile truce in an effort to insure the Poliesu's standing on the galactic stage. Thus, the kingdoms remain loyal to the Emperor and turn their collective might to more profitable peacetime focuses, like research and medicine.
;Rokhandan Directorate - Rokhandans
: The Praxis Incident permanently soured relations between the Directorate and the Poliesu, though they were not any better even before the incident. What is perceived as the refusal and outright denial of the utilization of Mass Genetic Warfare is another common point of contention against the Rokhandans. It is uncommon for a Poliesu to have anything other than revulsion or hatred towards Rokhandans, and those who are anomalous are regarded as pariahs.

While the Poliesu are still wary of other species by and large, there is a somewhat profitable tourism industry as the Grand Tide takes advantage of their status as a prime beach destination. Ayun-Ji is known for its calm waters and fair weather, making it a popular vacation spot for many rich and famous aliens, from politicians to business people. Some use this as an opportunity to attempt to interact with the famously reclusive Emperor, but thus far only a scarce few corporate executives have been granted an audience and their continued operation on Ayun-Ji's surface requires them to pay regular tithes to the Grand Tide.
;Onk Conglomerate - Gwix
: The Poliesians have no desire for material needs, having no drive towards wealth or prosperity. The Gwix of the Onk Conglomerate are seen by Poliesu as nothing more than grifters and scavengers preying on the weak-willed for insignificant material gain, and therefore have little regard or even respect for the Gwix.

Society
;Vesreen Holdings - Coathal
The Poliesu were forced to adopt an aggressive and violent lifestyle early in their evolution to remain competitive in the aggressive environment that characterized Ayun-Ji's waters. Many carnivorous sea creatures call these deep oceans home and to survive these harsh conditions the Poliesu had no other choice but to fight their way to the top. Combat and fighting is built in to their society. Soldiers and military men are afforded more rights and honor than the typical peasant, eclipsed only by nobility and high ranking army officers. The most honorable profession one can take up is that of the soldier, and communities take great pride in sending young men as tribute to their lords. Female Poliesu are expected to maintain the home and take up traditionally female jobs like nursing, entertainment or education while the men defend their home.
: The Coathal entered the Secession War to fight alongside the Galactic Coalition, but the Poliesu eventually gained respect for beings that looked similar to them despite being vastly different in cultural and political understandings. Poliesu would look upon the Coathal with suspicion, but would also have no outwardly signs of hatred or distrust.

;Roving Sun Fleet - Anahi
: The Poliesu cannot have any opinions on beings they had never interacted with prior to and even following the Secession War, so a Poliesu may regard an Anahi with curiosity and suspicion.

;Vatborne
: Poliesu ideologies drive a cold reception to what they perceive as unnatural humanoid creations. Vatborne are usually looked down upon by Poliesu, but not outright rejected - seeing as many Aquatic-based Vatborne have been accepted as citizens of Ayun-Ji.

;Synthetics/Artificial Intelligence
: Applying the same principle as directed towards the Vatborne, Poliesian distrust of anything Synthetic is quantified exponentially in comparison. The concept of giving synthetic lifeforms complete free-will is wholly alien to the Poliesu. With this understanding it is generally assumed that a Poliesu would harbor serious distrust towards anything that runs on a quantum computer powering a deep consciousness.

Poliesu society is a fraternal one; each of the five kingdoms is a hereditary military dictatorship with the king passing his crown along his lineage, and only to his male heir. Kings typically have many consorts in an attempt to have at least one male child before they die; the usual family unit is not quite as expansive, and while male children are considered more desirable not every Poliesu is able to produce that many offspring. With a high emphasis on the military and martial prowess, most parents wish for their son to join the army so that he may be afforded more wealth and respect than they might have. In this way, their son is able to bring honor to their family. Realistically, not every Poliesu can pass the extreme tests to be a soldier - some are not even interested in that lifestyle.

Men who do not take up this military lifestyle are usually afforded other hard labor jobs, such as kelp farming, construction, carpentry, or masonry. They, much like their wives and children make up the brunt of the peasant class. These families are the vast majority of Poliesu society and are not looked down upon, per se, but soldiers are still afforded more rights than they are, including the ability to purchase more land and obtain more wives in an attempt to produce as many male heirs as possible.

The bright blue gem that is Ayun-Ji is an oceanic world and the ancestral home of the Poliesu species. Its surface is a smattering of small landmasses and small islands surrounded by deep oceans that reach far into the planet's crust. Poliesu cities are unique in that many have layers built deep under water with tall and gleaming spires breaching the surface. The capitol, Atol-Jul, once served as the beacon of civilization for the Poliesu until an incident during the Secession War, in which the infrastructure of the city was wiped out and its population decimated from the catastrophic explosion of the GTNV Wau-Shui. Following the Poliesu's acceptance of becoming a protectorate of the Galactic Coalition, the majority of the surface and deep sea territories were resettled by what remained of the Poliesian civilization, with no shortage of assistance - reluctantly accepted - from the Coalition to aid in the planet's restoration. Interlinked cities have begun to be constructed with Atol-Jul rebuilt entirely to serve as the new political capitol of the United Republic of Ayun-Ji.

Society

Poliesian society developed early on from a smattering of nomadic groups, developed into much larger groups and collectives that eventually formed the Five Kingdoms through which Poliesian history was driven through the ages. Even as part of their nomadic roots, conflict was both a necessity and a way of life for many. To this day, service in the military is considered one of the highest honors one can achieve, even after the Grand Tide's reformation into the United Republic. The tribalistic nature that pervaded Poliesian society for countless years only ended as the Kingdoms dissolved, with three of the major entities converging to become the URP. This dissolution of fundamental understandings alienated many Poliesu, of whom many more left to join the separatist resurgent Grand Tide.

Relations With Other Races (Accordingly by Political Faction)

It is to be understood that every player character can, and will, be different and go against the ideas presented in the following list. This is merely to be used as a framework for attitudes by Poliesu player characters towards each individual faction.
Galactic Coalition - Humans
Much of the conflict during the Secession War was focused more against the Rokhandans than the Humans of the GC.
Federatsiya Feniksa/Federation - Humans
At first, the Poliesu opted to keep out of the affairs between the Federation and the Coalition.
The Holy See of Visra - Lumii
Though first contact was not under the best terms, the Poliesians eventually saw the Lumii as very close allies as they became involved with the Secession War. The Poliesians and the Lumii maintain a close relationship with one another during the armistice period. Poliesians tend to have a far easier time interacting with Lumii than any other race.
Rokhandan Directorate - Rokhandans
The Praxis Incident permanently soured relations between the Directorate and the Poliesu, though they were not any better even before the incident.
Onk Conglomerate - Gwix
The Poliesians have no desire for material needs, having no drive towards wealth or prosperity. The Gwix of the Onk Conglomerate are seen by Poliesu as nothing more than grifters and scavengers preying on the weak-willed for insignificant material gain, and therefore have little regard or even respect for the Gwix.
Vesreen Holdings - Coathal
The Coathal entered the Secession War to fight alongside the Galactic Coalition, but the Poliesu eventually gained respect for beings that looked similar to them despite being vastly different in cultural and political understandings. Poliesu would look upon the Coathal with suspicion, but would also have no outwardly signs of hatred or distrust.
Roving Sun Fleet - Anahi
The Poliesu cannot have any opinions on beings they had never interacted with prior to and even following the Secession War, so a Poliesu may regard an Anahi with curiosity and suspicion.
Vatborne
Poliesu ideologies drive a cold reception to what they perceive as unnatural humanoid creations. Vatborne are usually looked down upon by Poliesu, but not outright rejected - seeing as many Aquatic-based Vatborne have been accepted as citizens of Ayun-Ji.
Synthetics/Artificial Intelligence
Applying the same principle as directed towards the Vatborne, Poliesian distrust of anything Synthetic is quantified exponentially in comparison. The concept of giving synthetic lifeforms complete free-will is wholly alien to the Poliesu. With this understanding it is generally assumed that a Poliesu would harbor serious distrust towards anything that runs on a quantum computer powering a deep consciousness.
