THEY WILL BE FORMATTED AND CLEANED UP LATER

Overview

cloning is the act of duplication an individuals genetic data in order to facilitate the creation of a brand new, unique being.

Memory imaging is somewhat possible to ‘resurrect’ someone. Genetic samples that are viable enough to use degrade rather rapidly.

Legally, cloning requires that the original body be deceased, and have a valid, updated death certificate formally written in a government database in order for cloning to begin. Most cloning systems are made with this check in place, and will not work if the user has not officially “Died”

Illegally, machines can be modified to get around this limitation, however, being found with a clone results in the problem of typically, not being able to determine the original without expensive genetics scans. On backwater planets, the solution to this problem is typically a bullet. On federation planets, the solution is prison for both bodies, and one is eventually given a new identity and shipped away (Typically legal slavery)

Also Legally, it is possible to generate “Clone Armies” but the tools and licensing to create these is typically only reserved for supermassive corporations or governments, and is usually only seen during wartime.
