Overview

The OSIRIS Network is a home to the dispossessed, the free agents, those who live on the edge. Made up of mercenaries: Runners, hackers and the fixers that get them jobs. Those within the network are outside of society and do not fit into its restrictions and mores.

On the surface, the Osiris Arcadium is an arcade, restaurant and bar that has become a gathering place for people on the edge of society—mercenaries, runners and hackers. It is known as a good place to find work and a good place to hire people for jobs. It is something of an open secret that the owners are fixers, middlemen between public and private entities and runners, ensuring the right team gets the job to see it through to completion. Less well known is that beneath the arcade they host a safehouse for runners of all colors, a haven from the churn of day to day life and a centralized meeting place for mercenaries of all colors. They are not just local fixers, they are members of OSIRIS, a decentralized conglomerate of dark-net professional problem solvers.

Operations

The network's primary purpose is the acquisition of wealth to fund its organization, its network and its ability to build a home outside of the norm for those within its domain. To do this, it's members do odd jobs, known as runs, often working at the edge of legality.

Roles

Moderators

Local reps of the greater network, a bridge for major contracts and the owners of the safehouse and front.

Fixers

Runners who focus on obtaining contracts, jobs and information.

Troubleshooters

Front line focused runners who focus on doing the jobs that fund the network.

Testers

Runners who focus on support of teams, training, recruiting, and logistics.

Gophers

Prospects being tested for inclusion into true membership.

Structure

While largely democratic, the moderator team has final say over most major decisions, both as owners of the location and as reps for the larger net. Below them are all runners, who have no firm hierarchy beyond the needs of the current run, team or moment. Below runners are gophers, prospects being tested for membership.

History

The OSIRIS Network is a dark-net market for goods and services that evolved a notable ground-game based around the smuggling, or 'running' of goods from planets in the war-torn region of space during the succession war. Evolving a growing ground game and physical organization around the needs of this environment, it shifted to solving local issues for . After the war ended and the White Belt's establishment in 2813, it continued its purpose and niche, adapting to the new norms.

Today, it exists as a proxy for other interests, whether local governments, corporate competition, or smaller-scale private or public groups needing anything done that can't be publicly acted upon. Whether smuggling medical supplies to rural settlements or hacking corporate servers the Network aims to coordinate contracts to local runner teams, in and out of network.

Within Dusklight there are numerous small cells and safehouse locations throughout the colony, while unknown to almost all in the public the most notable safehouse is the the Osiris Arcadium, a runner bar built out of an arcade that houses the Dusklight primary server.
